Yangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), established in 1978, is a National Grade III Class A TCM Hospital (China's highest-level medical institution classification), one of the first pilot units for innovative TCM diagnosis and treatment models, and the Integrated Diagnosis and Treatment Center for Neck, Shoulder, and Back Pain in Yangzhou.

In December 2021, the "Construction Standards for TCM Hospitals" issued by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine officially took effect, incorporating logistics equipment into hospital construction guidelines. Against this backdrop, the new campus project of Yangzhou Hospital of TCM was launched and selected as a National Key TCM Hospital Construction Project.

The new campus is located at the northwest intersection of Zhenzhou North Road and Yangye Road, covering 120 acres with a total construction area of 210,000 square meters. It is divided into two phases:

● Phase I: 123,300 sqm, including outpatient & emergency departments, medical technology units, infectious disease clinics, inpatient wards, and supporting facilities. Designed for 594 beds and 5,000 daily outpatient visits.

● Phase II: 90,000 sqm, featuring research & teaching wards, TCM preparation rooms, and other auxiliary facilities.

To address material transportation challenges in the new campus, Yangzhou Hospital of TCM collaborated with Esseniot to implement an integrated logistics system, significantly improving delivery speed, reducing staff workload, and enhancing operational efficiency.

The solution combines two smart logistics technologies:

● Intelligent Vertical Conveyor Logistics: Acts as the core transport system, ensuring fast, stable, and reliable delivery of bulk supplies (medicines, IV bags, medical consumables).

● Pneumatic Tube System: Serves as emergency support, rapidly delivering urgent medications or lab samples in minutes.

By working together, these systems optimize hospital logistics, saving time and ensuring smooth medical operations.
