Hospital Overview
Established in 1950 as Wuhan Tuberculosis Prevention and Treatment Center, Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital has evolved into a tertiary specialist hospital integrating clinical care, research, and public health services.
The new campus, located at the in Qiaokou District of Wuhan, spans 166,290 sqm with 1,000 beds.Facilities include a general medical tower, public health emergency center, administrative and research buildings, and supporting infrastructure.Designed to meet JCI standards, the hospital will enhance regional healthcare capacity and emergency response capabilities.
Design Philosophy
Planned by Central-South Architectural Design Institute, the campus features a sail-inspired layout blending horizontal stability and vertical dynamism, symbolizing progress in healthcare.The design incorporates traditional Chu cultural motifs with modern materials like white aluminum panels and wood-toned grilles, creating an inviting "urban living room" atmosphere.
To optimize operational efficiency, the hospital collaborated with Esseniot to deploy an integrated logistics solution, ensuring seamless material flow across departments.
Smart Logistics Solution
Esseniot's hybrid system combines:
● Smart Vertical Conveyor Transport System - The backbone for bulk transport (medications, IV bags, supplies) with:
● Smart Interaction: Voice/HIS-enabled dispatch, priority routing, and real-time tracking.
● High Capacity: Multi-cart vertical lifts handling 4–12 carts per trip (up to 1,200 carts/hour).
● Safety: Obstruction detection, UV sterilization, and secure lifting mechanisms.
● Expandability: Compatible with robots, drones, and smart storage for end-to-end automation.
Pneumatic Tube System (PTS)
A supplementary network for urgent deliveries (labs, blood products, documents), reducing turnaround time.
Covering nursing stations, ICUs, labs, and ORs, the system automates 95% of material transport, minimizing staff workload and ensuring operational continuity.
